Welcome to St Mary's
It shouldn't need saying - but we say it anyway because we know that such is not always people's experience...
You are welcome here. Regardless of age, circumstance, special needs, gender identity, sexual identity, race, history or background. If you are searching for spiritual growth in a community context, looking both inward and outward as you do so, and you find that our flavour and perspective and approach appeal to you, then we hope you will find a place here. A soft landing. A home.
We are currently lay led and having recently sold a dysfunctional, decrepit, falling apart building! We let it go with some grief and sadness, but know that it was holding us back from reinventing what church can be in this age and community. We're now embarking on a path to work out how best to provide a holy, safe space which will effectively allow connection with the divine and with each other, building a community of people committed to growth and service.
Our Facebook page is the best place to find up to date information, and for details on our "on ground" services. This is an evolving picture as the COVID situation changes. But here is a summary of what we do is...
Sundays at 10am : a holy space with live streamed worship (FaceBook and YouTube), with music, meditation, readings, prayer and reflection; led by Marie Landry and Richard Hamby
Wednesdays at 9:30am: experience the stillness, beauty and familiarity of Book Of Common Prayer, morning prayer service, live on Zoom; led by Jane Parsons
Friday evening FamJam: a program of youth stuff for children and teenagers, and a time for families to get together and talk life and faith; led by Bethany Hartropp
Keep an eye out (coming soon!) for a monthly/annual calendar of community and social events, which includes : sharing soup and baking with each other, seniors and shut-ins, caring for our beehives and making honey, holiday caroling, summer day camp and more.
We also participate in activities and projects supporting local and global charities and initiatives, such as collections for women's shelters and homeless missions, Walks For Water in partnership with World Vision, and more.
